Thread veins, also known as spider veins or broken capillaries, are small, thin blood vessels that become visible through the skin. They are called "thread veins" because of their appearance, resembling fine, red or blue thread-like lines that may branch out like spider webs. These veins are usually close to the surface of the skin and are commonly found on the legs, face (especially around the nose and cheeks), and other areas of the body.
In some cases, thread veins can cause physical discomfort, but they also come with a psychological impact as people feel they need to hide or cover them up. If thread veins are stopping you from living your life to the fullest, contact our thread vein clinic in Cambridge to discover how we can help you.
At our Cambridge clinic, we offer Thermocoagulation (Veinwave) or Micro Sclerotherapy treatment to remove your thread veins. Both of these treatment options are minimally invasive and allow you to resume regular activities straight after your treatment session.
Your treatment will begin with an initial consultation to understand where your thread veins are (most commonly on the face or legs), any issues you are having and the best course of action to remove those thread veins.
Our aftercare team will then inform you on any post-treatment aftercare instructions, ensuring you are well supported to maximise the results of your treatment.
Effective removal of thread veins on the face can sometimes require a more holistic approach to your skin care. If you think you might have rosacea, acne, skin redness or hyperpigmentation, you may benefit from booking in for our advanced primary appointment which uses the innovative Skin OBSERV® machine to run a diagnostic assessment on the condition of your skin.
To get the best results possible for the removal of your thread veins, understanding how you can enhance your skin for better outcomes and overall skin health is worth the investment.
That’s why at Dr Newmans Clinic our expert doctors carry out a diagnostic assessment of your skin and design a routine using Obagi skincare to support your journey to a thread vein-free life.
